ABOUT

Michael Gottlieb concentrates his practice on the representation of medical providers in reimbursement disputes with commercial health insurance carriers. Catering to both in-network and out-of-network providers, Michael represents hospital systems, surgeons, ambulatory surgical centers, hospices, and medical billing companies, among other specialties. He has achieved hundreds of successful outcomes through state and federal litigation, arbitration and mediation.

While Michael’s practice primarily focuses on payment disputes, he also routinely advises his clients to help streamline reimbursement procedures and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. He has been quoted by Bloomberg News in connection with his representation of breast reconstruction surgeons, and has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.

ABOUT

James Greenspan concentrates his practice on the representation of medical providers in reimbursement disputes with commercial health insurance carriers. James’ practice is active in the New Jersey, New York and Federal “Surprise Bill” arbitration forums, as well as State and Federal litigation. Over the past ten plus years, James has won thousands of arbitration awards and recovered over 100 million dollars for his medical provider clients.

James is a former member of the Forthright Advisory Council for No-Fault Disputes in the State of New Jersey, which is responsible for revising arbitration rules and the selection and review of dispute resolution professionals. He has also lectured for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on the topic of PIP arbitrations, and for the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Healthcare Financial Management Association on The No Surprises Act arbitration process and medical revenue recovery.

James graduated Cum Laude from Villanova University in 2006, and Seton Hall University School of Law in 2009. ABOUT

Kenneth Willard is an associate at the firm who currently focuses his practice on the representation of medical providers in various civil litigation matters. Primarily, Kenneth focuses on ERISA litigation, network contract disputes and negotiations, and defense against SIU claims, among other areas.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Willard was involved in various areas of civil litigation, receiving notable victories for his clients. He successfully represented PSEG in environmental law litigation actions, helping to achieve favorable resolutions with the U.S. EPA as well as the NJDEP. Subsequently, Mr. Willard was among a team of 200 attorneys representing the U.S. Government against various corporate entities in connection with their role in the 2008 financial crisis, leading to a $14 billion settlement, the largest in U.S. history. Mr. Willard also has extensive experience representing large unions in collective bargaining actions and wage disputes, as well as ERISA matters involving asset transfers and withdrawal liability. He is also an expert in consumer protection, having successfully represented hundreds of clients in Federal Court over debt and credit disputes.

Mr. Willard graduated from the University of Iowa in 2000 and from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2010. ABOUT

Joseph Devine is an associate of the firm who primarily focuses his practice on the representation of medical providers in civil litigation and arbitration. Primarily, Joseph concentrates on contractual and quasi-contractual disputes, representing both in-network and out-of-network medical providers in State and Federal Court as well as in the AAA arbitration forum.

Joe brings extensive litigation experience to Gottlieb and Greenspan, having previously served as managing attorney for a New York City based creditor’s rights firm. In that role, he successfully represented landlords, financial institutions, and various other creditor clients in hundreds of contested litigation actions.

Joe graduated from Penn State University in 2008 where he was a member of the Penn State Blue Band.  He graduated from the Penn State University, Dickinson School of Law, University Park Campus in 2011, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal ethics fraternity, and Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Board.  Joe is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, as well as United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern, and Western Districts of New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Lucia DeCaito is an associate at the firm who primarily represents healthcare providers in various arbitration forums.
